| As usual on a bike ride, even though I didn’t need to arise early I
still woke up before 6:00am and couldn’t get back to sleep. I showered and
dressed, grabbed some reading material, and headed out to the nearest
Starbucks for my morning caffeine. The sky was clear and it was warm even
this early, so I sat outside to drink my coffee, read, and watched the world
go by. I went back to the hotel around 8:15 to meet the rest of the group
for breakfast, and we headed to a nearby restaurant with the most eclectic
mixture of décor I’ve seen in a while, along with delicious omelettes. After
breakfast we went back to our hotel and got a ride to the Coast Plaza where
we were to catch the bus back to Seattle. We loaded our bikes on the truck,
loaded our bags under the bus, and climbed aboard. The bus left around
10:45am, and the border crossing went quickly as all the agent did was check
our passports. I read, napped, and except for a quick leg stretch and
bathroom stop at the Bellingham rest area pretty much relaxed in my seat.
The bus arrived back at Magnuson Park around 2:15pm, and the bike trucks
arrived about 45 minutes later. We stood in line until our bikes were off
the truck, and then took off for home.
I completely enjoyed this weekend and the time spent both on the road and
with my fellow Big Riders. Once again I feel so fortunate that I had the
opportunity to get to know these folks and still get to spend time with
them, and I look forward to
RAW 2005 with anticipation.
