We left Pittsford under cloudy skies and headed through town back to the
Canalway Trail. The trail was wet and a bit muddy but passable, and we
stayed on it for the first half of the day. We spent some time at one of the
Erir Canal locks looking around, then continued on. After the trail ended we
rode on a series of side roads, climbing a couple of short, steep hills and
then continued on rollers. The sun came out and the temperature and humidity
increased. About 4 miles from camp we stopped at a Taco Bell and bought some
lunch to take into camp. We arrived at Tent City in Seneca Falls around 1:10
pm, set up our tent and sat in the sun eating our lunch. After lunch we
treated ourselves to smoothies. We decided to move our gear inside the gym
after hearing the weather forecast (30% chance of thunderstorms after
midnight, changed to 60% later), then took showers. Since there was no
dinner provided this night, we took the shuttle into Seneca Falls and ate at
a highly overrated take-out Chinese place. At least dessert was decent,
there was an ice cream social in the city park and we headed down there and
enjoyed that immensely. We shuttled back to camp, prepared for tomorrow, and
went to bed.
